The Victorian village of Jim Thorpe has something for just about
everyone. You can browse over 50 unique shops and world-class art
galleries. Take a walking tour through the Asa Packer Mansion or
The Old Jail where the famous Molly Maguires were hanged. Dine in
our wonderful and eclectic array of eateries. Take in a show at
the historic Mauch Chunk Opera House. Or take an old-fashioned train
ride through the mountains.
If outdoor adventure is your pleasure- there’s whitewater
rafting, lazy summer float trips, kayaking and fishing on the spectacular
Lehigh River. You can cruise through the scenic Lehigh River Gorge
on one of the nation’s top rated rail trails, or on a mountain
bike over Jim Thorpe’s challenging terrain.
When the snow falls, Jim Thorpe’s biking trails become some
of the best cross country trails around. For downhill skiing or
snow tubing, Blue Mountain, Jack Frost and Big Boulder offer acres
of winter fun within a 30 minute drive.
You’ll find it all here in a town known as “America’s
Little Switzerland”..
